Friends and supporters,

Wow! I can't tell you what a jam-packed, exciting week ahead we have here at CAPTAIN CHS!

We start off with this month's Lunch for a Cause, which takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, May 16th, at Lakeside Farms & Restaurant (336 Schauber Rd, Ballston Lake). Please feel free to join us at 11:30am for great food, conversation, and updates about the good work happening in our community. Click here to learn more.

This Thursday, May 18th, we're hosting a critical conversation for our area seniors. Here Come the Boomers: A Community Forum on the Future of Aging in Southern Saratoga County brings together community, faith, business, and government leaders, along with local seniors, caregivers, and concerned citizens to discuss the challenges and opportunities as our senior population grows. Click here to learn more.

On the topic of seniors, this May we're celebrating Older Americans Month with our 2023 Care Links Annual Appeal! Make a donation today to support homebound seniors throughout Southern Saratoga County. Click here to give.

Friday, May 19th brings a day of fun in the sun at this year's Second Annual Lawn Party + Mixed Fundraiser, at 951 Route 146 in Clifton, hosted by Kevin Marin, President of Wealth Solutions Network at Raymond James, Stefanie DeLallo Bitter, Principal at Bartlett, Pontiff, Stewart & Rhodes, P.C., and Christine Sheppard of The Christine Sheppard Agency. They'll be collecting hygiene products to help fill our pantry shelves throughout the day, and offering hot dogs, games, and fun activities for all. Click here to learn more.

On Sunday, May 21st, we have a sold-out celebration for our Care Links program, Pasta, Sinatra, and Friends, where our volunteers, caregivers, care receivers, and many others will join together for a delicious dinner and an evening of music.

Throughout the month of May, we're the honored recipients of State Farm's Quotes for Good Program with our local State Farm agent, Tom Bullock. This month, for every person we send their way and who completes an auto or fire quote, they’ll make a $5 donation to our organization. Call 518-400-1770 and mention CAPTAIN CHS for your quote today!

June kicks off with some terrific community events as well! The first weekend is Hoffman Car Wash's Annual Food Drive. On Saturday, June 3rd, or Sunday, June 4th, bring a non-perishable, unexpired food item to your local Hoffman's and get a FREE Deluxe Car Wash! Drop your donation at the Clifton Park Hoffman's (1672 Route 9) and it will go directly to our Emergency Food & Hygiene Pantry.

Less than a week later on Thursday, June 8th, we're hosting the 14th Annual Route 50 Mile, a community-focused one-mile road race that occurs just before the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Business & Professional Association's Flag Day Parade. We hope you and your family will join us for the run! Click here for more information or to register to run.

And finally, our premiere fundraising event of the summer, An Unbridled Affair gala, will take place on Thursday, July 20th this year. Once again at the fantastic Prime at Saratoga National Golf Course, we're excited to welcome supporters with some very special guests and a unique live and silent auction. This year, we'll be honoring DeCrescente Distributing Company, Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga, and Thoroughbred Stallion War Dancer. Click here to learn more or buy your tickets.

There's more to come this fall too, and I'm sure they'll be more events as you and supporters like you step up to host an event or collect donations for your neighbors in need. If you're interested in doing so, please reach out to Ava Martin at 518-399-4624 or ava@captaincares.org.

With so much happening, I hope that we'll see you for at least one of these upcoming events. As always, thank you so much for your support today and every day of the year.

With gratitude,

Andy Gilpin
Executive Director

As we celebrate Older Americans Month, make a difference for local seniors in Southern Saratoga County by giving to the 2023 Care Links Annual Appeal!

Care Links is a proud program of CAPTAIN Community Human Services.

Trained Care Links volunteers provide supportive services at no cost to persons 60+ in the towns of Ballston (including Burnt Hills), Charlton, Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Malta, the village of Ballston Spa, and the city of Mechanicville.

Care Links helps to keep people living independently in their homes as long as possible without duplicating other, well-established services.  Those services include: friendly visiting, transportation, respite assistance, shopping and errands, telephone reassurance, and more!

? State Farm Quotes for Good: Save on Insurance and Make a Difference in Our Community!

We’re excited to be sponsored by our local State Farm agent, Tom Bullock, as this month’s Quotes for Good organization!

For the quote to qualify, the individual cannot be a current State Farm customer, but please refer friends and family to help support this organization. Call 518-400-1770 for your quote today!

When calling in/stopping by for a quote, be sure to mention Quotes for Good and our organization’s name for the quote to qualify. We are excited about the opportunity to generate donations and create awareness about our cause.
